Clean Driver Installation

Installing new drivers

On some occasions errors within Knald are due to cached shaders that the driver hasn't compiled correctly or are corrupted in some way. Whenever you install a new driver we always recommend that you perform a clean installation and delete any cached shaders if they are present on your system.

NVIDIA GPUs

Performing a Clean Installation of the driver

  1. Download the latest NVIDIA and start the installation process.
  2. When you are prompted choose “clean installation” rather than the default “express installation”
  3. Reboot

Deleting the Shader Cache

  1. Go to your NVIDIA control panel> Manage 3D Settings, turn off Shader Cache and hit Apply
  2. Reboot your PC
  3. Go to %username%\AppData\Local\Temp\NVIDIA Corporation\NV_Cache and delete the contents of the folder (You can paste that address directly into a Windows address bar)
  4. Go back to your NVIDIA control panel> Manage 3D Settings, turn On Shader Cache and hit Apply
  5. Try Knald.
